Jubilee Concert of the Sfogato Music and Arts Society in Vienna
on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Sfogato Music and Arts Society
Mozarthaus, Concert Hall, Domgasse 5, 1010 – Vienna, Austria
Sunday, March 16, 2025 | 6:15 p.m.
The Sfogato Music and Arts Society was founded in the Chopin Year 2010 on the initiative of the pianist Marta Polanska. The Italian word sfogato (translated as catharsis) was first used as a musical term by Fryderyk Chopin. It shows the function that music and art have fulfilled from ancient times to the present day. Marta Polanska is also the initiator of the International Music Competition “Sfogato Stage”, which takes place every year in December (online) and which aim is to promote young talents and enable them to perform live on the Sfogato Stage around the world.
The concert will feature artists from the Sfogato Music and Arts Society: Marek Polanski – violin (who released the world phonographic premiere of the first Polish Caprices for solo violin by Duranowski and Kaczkowski), Anna Gutowska – violin and Marta Polanska – piano, as well as pupils and students from 18 music schools in Poland and Bulgaria as well as the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow. The concert will be moderated by actress Anna Buczkowska.
